Feature Requests and Bugs

Not sure if this is an issue, or just a need for clarification. When I was creating a video tutotial about longform posts, I started the post at the generic post creation button that show up in the Home feed. Things went strange when I tried to share it with the toolbox community. The community shows up in the list of places to share to, but did not accept the request to publish. So I cancelled that post and went into the community to create a new post, which was successfully posted. So, what might be the issue with that dropdown list of destinations? Does the list of shareable communities reflect whether a post can actually go to that community? I'm posting this as a bug because it seems like that's one possible explanation.

When trying to add a vid I've created (and loaded to my own youtube channel) using the media upload link box via the web editor long post tab, I always get the att'd error msg IN the editor. My experimentation shows other youtube vids load fine. Interestingly, if it helps in any way, is that the error msg replaces the link though does not show in a Shared post. EDIT: Long post via web editor does not allow direct upload of vids, they have to have a URL. @clseibold

Currently, in the web editor Long Post tab, external URLs either copy/pasted or typed directly do not show as links in either web browser or app. Those made with the toolbar/link work fine:

Many times the community a post was posted to isn't shown on posts in the public tab. Sometimes it does show though. It seems a bit random. For example, in the attached image, that post was posted to the Memes community, but when it appears in the public tab, it doesn't list that. I believe this is definitely an unintended bug.

Web users often post links to posts and communities in https:// format, which opens the login page in a browser when clicked in the app. Would be nice if those would open in-app.

I've noticed more than once that some long form posts done via web editor have loading circles that persist forever, active and spinning, even though the post is full loaded. I see them when viewing the post via web, though do not see them in the mobile app. I believe they've been on the same person's long posts (some, not all), which would indicate the web editor bug may come from her process, which has included copy/pasting into the web editor. In any event, knowing the web editor is creating this may be helpful. Her post, from 24.06.26:

I describe the problem in the two images below. The image was made by copying text from a Microsoft word document into this Canny window. Instead of treating it like text, it is converted to an image. I copied/pasted the same block of text into the long post composer window, See the screenshot. I'm using Microsoft Word for Mac Version 16.57 from 2021. Perhaps it's too out of date?

On iOS mobile, filters applied to home feed (in this case, clicking on the connections” circle) - works, filtering out all posts by users that are NOT in that circle, BUT unable to reset it to the default feed even after having pressed the “clear all filters” button multiple times. Refreshing in the app does not reset it - swiping out of the app and then tapping back into it from the device homepage does.

In community settings, whether choosing "Enable new post notifications" or "Disable new post notifications" one sees a pop up that says "New post notifications enabled," making it confusing as to which is which.
